The Scouts will be going on our winter camp beginning on Thursday Feb, 6 and returning on Saturday Feb 8. We will be going to an area on some private land just south of Payne Lake near Mountain View AB. Here are a few other points to note when preparing for this camp:
- We do have Scouts at our regular time on Wednesday the 5th. We will be using this night for a shortened activity to load gear and equipment (including each scouts' packed backpack-minus the food) into an enclosed trailer in order to prepare for a quick departure on Thursday afternoon.
- We will leave the stake center as close to 4pm on Thursday the 6th after the boys get out of school. There is no school on the friday the 7th as it is a PD day.
- The boys will be responsible for their own dinner on Thursday evening. A tin foil dinner would work well but other options with minimal preparation will work as well. If they would like snacks between meals they will also be responsible for those as well.
- Please make sure they have enough warm/dry clothing to get them through the camp. The current forecast is calling for low temperatures near -20 on those nights.
- We will be home by 2pm on Saturday February 8th. Please pick up your scout at the stake center.
- In case of an emergency during camp, you may contact one of the leaders.
If you do not think you have warm enough sleeping bags, boots, or other clothing for your son, please notify any scout leader
